The Audition

PRESCREEN REQUIREMENTS

Before audition, you must:
Apply online to the University.

Pay audition fee of $25
Provide copies of transcripts
Submit headshot and resume.

Prescreen is OPTIONAL
Applicants may choose to be pre-screened for Acting, Musical Theatre and Dance via Accept’d. Design/Technology students can submit digital art and design portfolios there, as well.
Though we encourage you to consider pre-screening, the online audition is optional and intended to help prospective students avoid unnecessary travel and be most efficient in their college selection process. You may still choose to audition in person without this screening.

Song (Option A):
TWO contrasting songs
Ballad/Uptempo
One pre-1970
One post-1970
60-90 seconds including slate
3/4 shot

Slate: your name, title, show.

Acting (Option A):
ONE monologue
60-90 seconds including slate

Slate: name, title of play, playwright.

Wild Card (Optional):
60 seconds or less. This media can be ANYTHING you want: a special skill, an interesting story about yourself, a passion speech, an instrument that you play, etc. “What do you want us to know about you?” and “What makes you unique?”.

For placement purposes

Admission to the Musical Theatre program is competitive and dependent upon the results of the audition. An individual may audition only once for the Musical Theatre Program.
